WICA Summer Series

Friday, July 5, 2024
565 Camano Avenue
Langley, WA 98260

5-7 pm

We are happy to be invited to the Whidbey Telecom Summer Nights Series, featuring concerts and community under the big tent, and concerts and theatre on the Mainstage. Summer Nights began during the Covid shutdown to provide entertainment and good company while social distancing − and helping local merchants manage overflow when capacity was not yet open. That first night, with the sounds of a piano filling the air, bringing us all together, we knew the power of the arts could and would help us heal. And so, Summer Nights was born!

Playing music is what we love to do, dancing is what we hope you love to do…this is what happens when we gather together during the Bayview Street Dance. A summer night of amazing music, dancing, singing and clapping, all coming together as a community of familiar friends and family. Many special memories have been made at this venue and we so look forward to adding 2024 to the memory book!

We are thrilled that Othnell Moyo also known as "Mangoma" (freely translating as “the one with the drums”) is going to join us on this magical night. He is a multi-talented, internationally touring artist, teacher, ethnomusicological researcher, and preservation activist, deeply rooted in Zimbabwean Culture, who makes 75% of the instruments he plays himself.

You can read more about him in the Featured Musicians tab!
